US Renal Care — Wellsboro Dialysis

For patients living with end-stage kidney disease, dialysis is not a one-time treatment — it is three days a week, for hours at a time, for the rest of their lives. Before US Renal Care opened at Wellsboro Plaza in 2013, Tioga County patients spent much of that time on the road.

The twelve-station center changed that. Modern hemodialysis stations, an on-site water treatment system, private nursing and physician stations, and comfortable chairs designed for long sessions mean patients from Wellsboro, Mansfield, Coudersport, and Galeton can receive care close to home. A dedicated team of nephrologists, nurses, patient care technicians, dietitians, and social workers walks with each patient through their treatment journey.

US Renal Care is a national provider focused exclusively on kidney care, and Wellsboro was chosen specifically because rural residents had been driving long distances several times a week to reach the nearest center. Bringing that care to Route 6 gave patients back their evenings, their strength, and often years of independence.

The center also coordinates with the Guthrie clinic next door, so patients whose care spans multiple specialties can manage most appointments in a single visit.
