PA CareerLink — Northern Tier

PA CareerLink — operated in this region by the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission — is a one-stop workforce center at Wellsboro Plaza. It brings together federal, state, and local workforce programs for job seekers and for employers hiring in Tioga County.

For job seekers, staff help with résumé writing and review, mock interviews, career assessments, computer and internet access for applications, and referrals to training and industry-recognized credentials through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Unemployment claim assistance, veterans' employment services, and reemployment programs are coordinated here as well.

For local employers — the machine shop, the dairy, the small manufacturer trying to grow — CareerLink can post openings, screen applicants, host on-site hiring events, and connect businesses to On-the-Job Training and Customized Job Training reimbursements that offset the cost of hiring and upskilling.
