Trehab

Trehab is the Community Action Agency serving Susquehanna, Wyoming, Bradford, and Tioga counties. Its Wellsboro Plaza office is where Tioga County residents apply for and receive many of the programs Trehab administers on behalf of state and federal partners.

Services include weatherization assistance that improves the energy efficiency of low-income homes, LIHEAP heating assistance intake and support, emergency housing and homelessness prevention, affordable rental housing referrals, Head Start and Early Head Start enrollment, and family self-sufficiency programs that help households build savings and stability.

Trehab also operates transportation programs in the region, including Medical Assistance Transportation for eligible residents who need rides to medical appointments — a genuine lifeline in a rural county where the nearest specialist can be an hour's drive away. Care managers help clients navigate SNAP, cash assistance, child care subsidies, and other public benefits.

The Wellsboro Plaza office is deliberately located near the Area Agency on Aging, CareerLink, and the State Health Center, so a family working through several needs at once can often see multiple agencies in a single trip. Trehab's mission — helping people help themselves and each other — plays out every day here on Route 6.
